Turkics living in Ukraine, shot by an Italian photog, published by a British magazine, and linked here by an American aggregator. How amazing is the Internet?
Simone Donati has been photographing exiled persons for some time. His proclaimed interest is how displaced people interact with their new landscape. Though the Turkics pictured here have actually returned to their homeland, they somehow only seem in place when indoors, surrounded by cultural elements. Outside, when pictured against their concrete bunkers, they seem as exotic as a migratory bird.
